Reflections…What can I say about 2021? While it wasn’t the greatest year ever, it wasn’t a complete dumpster fire. At least not for me. Sure, there were a lot of tough times. Some that I didn’t think I’d get through. But I did. And even though those times truly sucked, I was able to claw myself out of the darkness and find the light again.
2021 taught me that it’s ok to lean on others for support. It taught me that I don’t always have to be strong. That strength comes when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable.
I’ve also learned that while endings are usually final, sometimes they are just a pause. A break to allow time to heal things before we get another beginning. Either way, we can always grow from the outcome.
And the biggest thing that I took away from 2021 was personal growth. It’s wasn’t always easy, or fun, but it was mine and I am proud of how far I’ve come.
I’m not going to say it’s a “New year, new me.” Or even “New year, same me.” Because this year and every one after is leading to a new year and a better me.
