End of August Musings

Can’t believe how fast the summer has gone by. Seems like such a whirlwind. I can’t complain too much though, it was relatively stress-free for me. Other than my spring course which I thoroughly enjoyed, there wasn’t much going on. Just as summer should be. Care-free. Went to Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball on Friday the 28th of August which was the highlight of my summer and probably the best concert I have ever been to! Her music and messages are so positive. That is what I love about her. It’s so easy to get caught up in life’s hardships and negativity that it’s nice to have someone remind us that everything is going to be okay. Your state of mind is really that. A state you create in your head. You choose how you feel and react. No one else can do that for you. No one can break you unless you let them. It’s easy to get caught up in the bad, believe me, I’ve succumbed to that myself. But thinking back on all my experiences, I have been the one who has brought myself out of the darkness. Sure others have helped, but it was me who decided if I was going to stay there and wallow, or shake off everything and get back to the light.


School starts again in one week and I am looking forward to it. Ask me again in November/December around finals and I’ll be singing a different song for sure! But I generally do like school and learning and have a bit of a routine. Nothings ever set in stone as they say, but having something scratched out on one isn’t always a bad thing.


One more month until the Light the Night Walk takes place at Victoria Park. So far my team is at 37% of our goal, but we need to raise more. I really hope that people are open to donating whatever they can, so that we can reach our goal and raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It’s such a good cause. So I am sending out my positive vibes and love to all those who have donated and to all those who have yet to. I reached my goal last year and I am going to do it again this year.
